I kinda wish I never met you You had to go and make me smile I hate how I can’t call you up and hear about your day no more We haven’t done that in a while It was never my intention to fall in love I was fine taking smooth with rough Then I met you Then I met you Then I met you, with all the things you do, the way you see the world And then I met you that night on the city walls I still wear my hair the way you liked it My favourite clothes are all the ones you bought me I never saw it coming How dare you show me what could’ve been It was never my intention to fall in love In the right place at the wrong time, that’s all it was Now I can’t forget your face, can’t go back to my old ways 'Cause I met you 'Cause I met you 'Cause I met you, with all the things you do, the way you see the world 'Cause I met you that night on the city walls That night on the city walls Would I undo it all? Would I pick up that call? If I knew I was to fall That night on the city walls That night on the city walls When I met you When I met you When I met you, with all the things you do, the way you see the world When I met you that night on the city walls

about

'On The City Walls' is the result of my first ever co-writing session. I'm so pleased with how it turned out - George's more jazzy, piano-led, soul influences blended so well with my lyrical, hooky, singer-songwriter approach in the end. It feels like a bar crooner from a musical, to me...a perfect song for cosy nights in wintertime. I hope you like it!
