about

“[His music] undoubtedly stunningly showcases his knack for crafting tunes that are simultaneously infectiously captivating and stirringly poignant” – Atwood Magazine

'Heading West' is a song I'm immensely proud of. It was first single I released in quite a while, and it marked a huge step forward for me as an artist. Having written the song as a quiet, intimate acoustic tune, for it to grow into such an intricate, slick, catchy BOP was incredibly exciting to me. I properly love this song, and it's about as close as I've ever gotten to releasing a stone-cold dancefloor banger...!

lyrics

My love's heading west, I'm staying right here
I'm not the one she wants to dry her tears
I don't blame her
I'm just saying

It didn't have to be this way
I'm getting lower every day
I'm trying desperately to say I'm sorry
But you don't want me anymore

My love's heading west, I'm staying behind
She says it's for the best I give her some time
But I don't want to sit alone inside my mind
No, I don't want to think on all of my crimes
I don't blame you
I'm just saying

It didn't have to be this way
I'm getting lower every day
I'm running out of ways to say I'm sorry
It didn't have to be this way
I'm getting lower every day
I'm running out of ways to say I'm sorry
But you don't want me

I know that I did you wrong
Why do you think I wrote this song?
'Cos the nights are so long
I just want to make it right
I just want to hold you tight
When the nights get so long
I don't blame you
I'm just saying

It didn't have to be this way
I'm getting lower every day
I'm trying desperately to say I'm sorry
It didn't have to be this way
I'm getting lower every day
I'm running out of ways to say I'm sorry
But you don't want me anymore
